Implementing Policy Transparently and in Real Time

The HBS Club of Atlanta, sponsored by MMM, was privileged to host Raphael Bostic, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, earlier this week. In his cautiously optimistic talk, President Bostic spoke at length regarding the need for - and the Fed's gravitation toward - transparency in the machinations behind the formulation and implementation of monetary policy. Consistent with that philosophy, President Bostic's comments and his views on striking that right balance among interest rates, inflation and employment were streamed and broadcast live and reported instantaneously.  A vast improvement over the ‘Black Box’ of old.

Thanks to President Bostic (and special event sponsor ICV Partners) for a remarkable event, and for his steady, astute and inclusive stewardship of the nation's economy.
