Are Changes to the Accredited Investor Definition Coming?

Unfortunately I don't have a definitive answer to that question, but revisions to the definition of “accredited investor” are being discussed by the Securities and Exchange Commission.  Although not yet finalized, the changes could impact startups and investors alike as the circle of parties who can invest becomes smaller thus limiting who start-ups can receive investments from.  These changes could come at an interesting time as access to capital has slowed, which likely means a further decline in the flow of funds to your local community startups.  Read on for additional information regarding the proposed changes here

One of the top items on the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) agenda under the leadership of Chair Gary Gensler is changes to Regulation D (Reg D) along with updates to the definition of an Accredited Investor.
